I also got a colonscopy...my first one...last Wednesday. The worst part was the night before drinking the medicine to clean me out. If you've never done it, you have to drink a glassful every 15 minutes. By midnight I was very clean. Early the next morning, Bruce took me to the clinic where they gave me a sleepy injection and I promply fell asleep for about 45 minutes. When I woke up, I couldn't remember a thing...which is a good thing! I did have one polyp that the doctor removed and now I'm good for another five years. Sometime soon, I would also like our hearing checked. It's the pitts getting older.

Doctor Visits and Dogs
We decided it was time to get ourselves updated on our checkups and shots, so we went for an eye exam and I needed a new prescription on glasses. I also got checked for glaucoma and will have another test next week as it looks suspicious. We will be picking up my new glasses in a few days which I will be wearing most of the time now. The world has gotten more blurry!

While I rested up after the colonoscopy, I finished knitting Clarks' sweater. I think it's a little too bright!
Gucci looked a little sad after Andy and I took all the dogs to update their shots. She was also throwing up and had an occasional twitch in her leg. So Bruce and Andy took her to an after-hours animal clinic. She was having a reaction to the shots, probably because she is so small and they gave her a steroid and antihistamine which helped. She's only getting one shot at a time next time.

Our January Trip To Washington
We want to thank Spencer and Jane for making us so welcome and comfortable at their home early this month. It was a joy to see them and our grandson, Wyatt, who is now 18 months old.
Wyatt loves his Grandpa Howard. One rainy day we took a trip to the zoo where Wyatt enjoyed seeing the animals.
Lee's birthday was January 10th and we enjoyed a lasagna dinner by Karyn. Happy Birthday to Lee!!! The girl with dark hair is Veronica from Ukraine who is an exchange student living with them until school is out this summer. Thank you Lee and Karyn for a nice dinner and visit.

CHRISTMAS 2009
We had a Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner this year. Sarah was a big help in putting it all together. Here she is making the golubtsi which is like cabbage rolls.
Can you tell by the looks on these faces that we all enjoyed it? We even got Nick Lasker to join us.
With Sarah's help in translating this recipe for myedovik, I was able to make this dessert by myself.
Then we all exchanged gifts. This is a hat that Diane got from Sarah.Friday, December 18, 2009
GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS
My office is ready. We just had our Christmas potluck luncheon and ate way too much! This is Allie, hygenist, Cheryl, assistant, and me, office manager.
Sue, Diane, and Sharon are the receptionists downstairs who put the party together. Thanks for everything you do!
Since we had a Thanksgiving dinner after Diane and Dallon got married, we decided to have a waffles brunch on Thanksgiving Day. Bruce cooked the eggs and bacon (yummy from Jared and Candace).......... Wednesday, December 2, 2009
Diane and Dallon's Wedding
I have always thought it would be nice if we could have our children's wedding reception in our back yard, but I never thought the wedding would be there. But that was where it ended up for Diane and Dallon.
It was a cold day and had just snowed the day before, but the sky was clear and the sun came out. The minister was a friend of Diane's and was his first ceremony.
This was the entire congregation, but they chose to keep it immediate family.
After the ceremony outside, we came inside and had an early Thanksgiving dinner. We set up an extra table to accomodate the group. Dallon has a nice family. His parents and one sister. Our good friend and Candace's sister, Brandy Johnson came and took the pictures which turned out very good. See her blog at www.sweethoneyphoto.com.
