CHRISTMAS 2009

We had a Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner this year. Sarah was a big help in putting it all together. Here she is making the golubtsi which is like cabbage rolls.
Can you tell by the looks on these faces that we all enjoyed it? We even got Nick Lasker to join us.
With Sarah's help in translating this recipe for myedovik, I was able to make this dessert by myself.
Then we all exchanged gifts. This is a hat that Diane got from Sarah.
And what is Christmas without Bruce and his guitar to accompany us in some carols?
Thanks to Candace and Jared, we had our traditional cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas morning.
Later in the day we visited Bruce's mother in Orem. We had a good day!
When we got our Raidon that Sunday, Andy had to be gone trucking. So this is a sad boy talking to his daddy on the phone.
We had fun anyway and got a little story time in before he had to go back home. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and will have a good New Years coming soon!

GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS

My office is ready. We just had our Christmas potluck luncheon and ate way too much! This is Allie, hygenist, Cheryl, assistant, and me, office manager.
Sue, Diane, and Sharon are the receptionists downstairs who put the party together. Thanks for everything you do!
Since we had a Thanksgiving dinner after Diane and Dallon got married, we decided to have a waffles brunch on Thanksgiving Day. Bruce cooked the eggs and bacon (yummy from Jared and Candace)..........
and the girls made the waffles. It was all too delicious!
The other guys hung out until the food was ready. It's great to have Rick come for the holidays.
We still enjoy having Raidon on Sundays and now we found out we get to have him on Christmas Day too! Yay!
We're almost ready for Christmas at our house. Bruce showed what a "Scrouge" he's not by putting up our lights.
But I always get the job inside. It's fun anyway. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Diane and Dallon's Wedding

I have always thought it would be nice if we could have our children's wedding reception in our back yard, but I never thought the wedding would be there. But that was where it ended up for Diane and Dallon.
It was a cold day and had just snowed the day before, but the sky was clear and the sun came out. The minister was a friend of Diane's and was his first ceremony.

This was the entire congregation, but they chose to keep it immediate family.
After the ceremony outside, we came inside and had an early Thanksgiving dinner. We set up an extra table to accomodate the group. Dallon has a nice family. His parents and one sister. Our good friend and Candace's sister, Brandy Johnson came and took the pictures which turned out very good. See her blog at www.sweethoneyphoto.com.

Our Baby is Married!

No, not a recent picture, but we're awaiting the cd of pictures from our photographer. Diane and Dallon's wedding turned out very nice. We were in the back yard for the ceremony... cold but pretty, then indoors for an early Thanksgiving dinner.

Other than these couple of shots, I was too busy that day to do anything but cook and get things ready. Emily was my little helper with the sweet potato pie. She did a great job with the marshmallows. Lee's family made the trip from Shelton for Diane's wedding.

Aunt Sarah shared some Barbie gummies with Emily. Thanks to everyone who helped in any way.

"Falling in Love"

This was the theme of Diane's bridal shower. Everyone took home hot chocolate packages with the date of the wedding on it.
We had way too much food but it was way yummy! The money tree grew a nice sum of envelopes as the night went on. Diane is very thankful to all.
What are they looking at and why are they holding toilet paper? They are awaiting their turn to add to Diane's TP wedding gown.
Here is Annie M. adding a lovely sleeve. Each had one minute to do their best.
Doesn't the bride look charming?! And we saved so much money! Thanks to all for the fun time.

ANDY AND RAIDON'S VISIT

With Randi and Andy's split, we now have Andy and Raidon in our home for a couple of days every other weekend.
This is a boy who loves his "dada".
They spent time and colored together.
Raidon loved the outdoors,
but especially his dada.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SPENCER AND OTHER STUFF

We are enjoying a visit from Spencer, Jane and Wyatt this week. Wyatt turned one July 31st and Spencer's 34th birthday was October 2nd. Wow how time flies! Wyatt is such a good boy but is having a little bit of a hard time getting his regular sleep time in this new place.
Last weekend we had Andy home from his trucking and celebrated his 30th birthday, which was Sept.10th.
It's great to have family home with us when they can be here. Thanks for coming....WE LOVE YOU!!!

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY, EMILY!!!

Yesterday was our Emily's birthday and I didn't get a chance to enter this until now. We hope she had a great day! What a fun grandaughter she has been.
This was taken this summer when Lee and Karyn came to take Whitney to EFY at Utah State University. It was a hot day and Emily found shade under a big tree. She likes to carry her things in a little purse Grandma crocheted for her.
This is one of the Barbie outfits I crocheted for her birthday this year. I hope she has fun with her presents. Emily, we love you very much!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANDY!!!

Oh, yes! This is what I discovered just a couple minutes after I had left this little guy alone. (Never do that!) It was cleanser, which wasn't the easiest thing to clean up on our new laminate floor.
He must have had fun looking at his trail behind him. But it was easy to track the evidence.
See how similar Andy looks to his Raidon when he was a baby. Both darling! (I don't know how that dot on his nose got there.)
There's no doubt who his father is. We love you, Andy. Have a happy birthday!!!
I don't know what Sarah meant about not good pictures of her on the last blog. She's always cute! But after getting the pictures I wanted, here are a few that I would have posted before.
Of course, this is a few minutes after she flew in from Ukraine. She looked like an angel in white.
This is by the Draper Temple that we attended a few days later.
Diane is happy to have her sister back, as we all are!
