Some of My Favorite Pics

I've been spending time getting our pictures organized and I've come across some of my favorites. I'm sure you can guess who these cute kids are. It's been kinda fun how they have paired off sometimes. Anyway, save your pictures in the computer and then again on a disk because they are fading and getting lost, etc. I love and miss my babies! HAPPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

I want you all to know that I love you on this Valentines weekend. Since I can't give you one of these cookies I made, I will share the recipe with you and maybe you can make them yourselves. Remember how we Garrard sisters would make sugar cookies and frost them? One of my favorites! This is a recipe that was on the noon news and I had to have it. Yes, the ingredients are bad for you, but splurge for your Valentines (and yourselves).
Valentine Glazed Sugar Cookies
7 cups flour
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 cup dairy sour cream
1 8-oz package cream cheese
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together.
2. Cream together butter, sugar, and cream cheese.
3. Add sour cream, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract. Blend to incorporate.
4. Add flour mixture and mix until combined.
5. Chill in refrigerator.
6. Roll out, cut in desired shape and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 12 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. ( I liked 11 minutes in my oven)
Cookie Glaze:
1 stick butter
1/2 cup milk plus 3 tbsp
1/4 cup light corn syrup
32 ounces powder sugar (2 pounds)
1. Melt butter in a large microwave safe bowl.
2. Add remaining ingredients and mix together until smooth. (I added about 10 drops of red food coloring)
3. Dip cookies in glaze and place on a wire rack Sprinkle with colored sugar if desired. (I just placed them on foil, but move to a clean one after edges stop dripping so it doesn't stick). Allow glaze to set for about 1 hour. Enjoy!
